As human beings, we have remarkable intelligence that allows us to analyze and plan for the future. We have language that enables us to communicate what we have understood to others. Since destructive emotions like anger and attachment cloud our ability to use our intelligence clearly, we need to tackle them.

Fear and anxiety easily give way to anger and violence. The opposite of fear is trust, which, related to warmheartedness, boosts our self-confidence. Compassion also reduces fear, reflecting as it does a concern for others’ well-being. This, not money and power, is what really attracts friends. When we’re under the sway of anger or attachment, we’re limited in our ability to take a full and realistic view of the situation. When the mind is compassionate, it is calm and we’re able to use our sense of reason practically, realistically, and with determination.

[…]

Read the full Dalai Lamas message in the link below:

https://www.dalailama.com/messages/compassion-and-human-values/why-leaders-should-be-mindful-selfless-and-compassionate

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

5,20,21,22,19
24,26,23,25,27,28
post-3078","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog","category-buddhism","category-dalai-lama","category-leadership","category-mind","tag-buddhism","tag-compassion","tag-dalai-lama","tag-leadership","tag-mindfulness","tag-selflessness
["en","br","de","es
https://i0.wp.com/www.ricardosantanna.yoga/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/2021-03-13-Dharamsala-G05_SA96632.jpg?fit=1140%2C760&ssl=1
["GET
